26th Jan 04 The MS-SQL addition is new and beta testing is still ongoing. For the username use admin and the same for the password. First thing you need to do before anything else is register the enclosed webdesk.dll by running "regsvr32 c:\windows\system\webdesk.dll" from a command prompt, replacing c:\windows\system with the path where you unzipped the dll. Once you have unzipped the files navigate to the Includes folder and open systemvariables.asp file in your editor. There are 3 connection strings - one for Access and two for MySQl - make sure the appropriate connection is uncommented and change the database name, username and password appropriately. Then login and goto the Admin page and under the Administration tab set the path of where you have put the software. This is set by default to http://localhost/webdesk, so you will need to change this if you put the software onto a live server e.g. http://www.mysite.com/webdesk. If you don't change this then you will get errors when trying to change any field information. Once thats done your Green to Go (apart from setting up departments and staff and admin settings and user fields... ) The translation feature is still being developed and there are some bugs - when updating the field names in Admin incorrect data is returned to the page. If you refresh the page the changes should be displayed correctly. There are also a few areas where the translation is still in English. Some of the translations may not read correctly so if you plan to use a default language other than English double check the meanings mean what they are supposed to mean! The ability for the user to set their own default language will also be available in the next release. Any questions or problems then visit forums.intouchmedialtd.com. Sorry but I will not answer personal e-mail requests for help. If you add any further languages to the program I would appreciate a copy of the translations for future releases - you can email it to me at gary@intouchmedialtd.com, in whichever format is easy for you - csv, tab delimited etc. Gary inTouch Media Ltd Thanks to Paolo Cecchetti (www.wayin.net) for correcting the Italian translations.
