ASP Pics Gallery 1.0 How it works The ASP Pics Gallery works using simply a database and a folder with write permissions. Inside the database will be stocked all the informations about your pictures like the path of the file, the description and the category, so it is very easy then for the script to create the thumbnails using an ASP.net application to make the miniatures. A control panel will allow you to set up the output and the colors of the layout. What you need To run this tool you need a website with a database folder, ASP and ASP.net supports and a folder with write permissions. What you have to do Download the zip file here and unzip it on your computer. In the /admin/ folder open the file inc_path.asp and write the correct path where you want to upload the pics (the write permissions folder). In the same folder open the files inc_db_aut.asp and inc_db_ins.asp and write the correct path of the database fotodata.mdb Upload the database fotodata.mdb in the database folder, the resize.aspx file into the write permissions filder and the rest of the files and the complete admin folder where you prefer. Be carefull to keep the right paths. Open the control panel: http://www.yoursite.com/admin/admin.asp and enter the password admin. Once you are inside you can change the password first (recommended!) and then you can set up the layout of the gallery by choosing the number of pics per page, and the different colors. Now you are ready to upload your pictures using the upload form in the control panel. My advice is to upload only pictures of the same size, if the thumbs are too big or small you can change the size by editing the resize.aspx file lines 7, 8 and 9. The tool is free, you can make any change and adapt it to your web site, but I just ask you to keep the links on my website. Developed by: info@matteobinda.com http://www.matteobinda.com
