A BJP MLA Shankar Chaudhary from Patan district in Gujarat has been arrested in connection with his alleged role in a post-Godhra communal riots case.

Chaudhary, an MLA from Radhanpur town of the district was arrested on murder and rioting charges and is in custody of Patan local crime branch.

The MLA was booked for leading a rioting mob and also allegedly shooting people of minority community in the village where two persons were killed on March 1, 2002. (PTI)
